First three seconds decide virality, CreatorWerse founder tells creators
HYDERABAD, Jan 18 (The CONNECT) – Reel-making is a science driven by viewer behaviour, not luck or creative instinct alone, CreatorWerse Founder Mani Pavitra said at a tourism reels bootcamp in Jubilee Hills on Saturday.
“The first three seconds decide everything. If a reel doesn’t hook instantly, it gets skipped and the algorithm takes note,” Pavitra said, explaining how platforms assess content in real time.
She said Instagram amplifies reels based on retention, not effort. “When viewers don’t skip, Instagram pushes the reel to non-followers. Viral reels are a mix of strategy, psychology and timing,” she said.
Pavitra cautioned creators against assuming quality guarantees reach. “Reels don’t go viral because they are good. They go viral because they are not skipped,” she said, adding that emotion plays a decisive role. “Virality is not an algorithm trick. It is emotional connection multiplied.”
The comments were made during a Tourism Reels and YouTube Shorts Making Bootcamp organised by the Tourism Committee of the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry in association with CreatorWerse.
The half-day bootcamp, held at CreatorWerse in Jubilee Hills, drew 58 participants and focused on creating high-impact tourism reels. An outdoor practical shoot across three tourism locations is scheduled for January 24 as part of the programme.
