Navi Mumbai International Airport will see first departure to Hyderabad on the Christmas day.
NAVI MUMBAI: The successful execution of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) marks a historic milestone in India’s infrastructure journey and stands as a proud testament to the vision, perseverance, and execution capabilities of the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd. (CIDCO).
With the first flight scheduled to take off Christmas day, a long-cherished dream of Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, and the nation finally takes flight, Vijay Singhal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, CIDCO stated.
This reflects the Maharashtra Government and CIDCO’s sustained commitment to infrastructure development. This landmark project symbolises our commitment to futuristic infrastructure, inclusive growth, and global connectivity. It is a proud moment for every citizen who believed in this vision and supported this journey over the years, Singhal said.
Planned and developed as a world-class Greenfield airport, NMIA is CIDCO’s most ambitious project to date. From concept to commissioning, the airport reflects decades of meticulous planning, inter-agency coordination, and engineering excellence. The commencement of operations at NMIA will significantly ease congestion at Mumbai’s existing airport and establish a robust multi-airport system for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).
Congratulating the citizens on this landmark achievement, Vijay Singhal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, CIDCO, extended his heartfelt greetings to Navi Mumbaikars, the people of Maharashtra, and citizens across India, calling the airport’s operational launch a collective dream come true.
