Trust, Not Talent, Is the Real Challenge in IT Hiring

Troogue.ai is building human capability infrastructure, says Madhu Rajputra Peravalli.

Madhu Rajputra Peravalli, CEO and Co-Founder of Troogue.ai, combines decades of corporate leadership with the mindset of a serial entrepreneur. An engineering graduate from Chennai with an MBA from IIT Roorkee, Peravalli began his entrepreneurial journey while still in college, co-founding two startups, including an organic sandwich venture that was ahead of its time.

After starting his corporate career with Infosys, he explored multiple entrepreneurial ventures, including a school ERP platform and a farm-to-table green supply chain business, before building a successful leadership career at Virtusa, where he rose to become Senior Vice President and Business Unit Head.

Drawing on his experience across startups and global technology enterprises, he founded Troogue.ai to help organisations harness the power of artificial intelligence. Troogue is an AI-powered platform that matches verified IT professionals and delivery partners with enterprise engagements through structured contracts, guaranteed payments and accountability built in from day one.

In an exclusive email interaction with B N KUMAR, editor of BizNewsConnect, Peravalli shares his insights on AI, enterprise transformation and the vision behind Troogue.ai.

Q: Could you explain the vision behind Troogue.ai and the problem you are trying to solve for enterprises?

A: Enterprises do not have a talent shortage problem alone. They have a verified capability problem. There are enough profiles in the market. The real challenge is knowing who can actually deliver. Troogue’s vision is to move the market from rรฉsumรฉ-led hiring to capability-led deployment. In the long term, we are building human capability infrastructureโ€”the layer that ensures what you see is genuinely what you get.

Q: Troogue.ai describes itself as an AI-powered talent marketplace. How does your platform differ from traditional recruitment firms, job portals and staffing companies?

A: A job portal gives reach. A recruiter provides sourcing. A staffing company supplies manpower. Troogue verifies before it matches. We assess capability, communication, role fit and deployment readiness before a profile reaches the enterprise. We are not building a better staffing company. We are building capability infrastructure.

Q: Could you explain the verification process with an example?

A: Imagine two software engineers with nearly identical rรฉsumรฉs and similar years of experience. A traditional recruiter may forward both profiles based largely on keywords and past employers. Troogue goes further. We evaluate coding ability, communication, problem-solving, role fit and deployment readiness through structured assessments. The enterprise receives candidates whose capabilities have already been validated, significantly reducing hiring risk and improving project outcomes.

Q: Why is verification becoming increasingly important in the age of AI-generated rรฉsumรฉs and portfolios?

A: AI has made it very easy to look capable. Earlier, a weak rรฉsumรฉ could hide a strong candidate. Today, a strong rรฉsumรฉ can hide an average candidate. In a world where anyone can fabricate a convincing paper trail, demonstrated performance becomes the only honest currency. That is what Troogue verifies.

Q: Could you elaborate on the suite of AI agents you are building for coding, testing, documentation, recruitment operations and project delivery?

A: We are building agents around workflows, not broad software features. On the recruitment side, agents support requirement interpretation, candidate matching, evaluation and interview insights. On the delivery side, we are building support for documentation, code review, testing, QA readiness and productivity visibility. On the operations side, agents handle engagement tracking, customer satisfaction collection and renewal signals. This allows us to scale without proportional headcount growth. The Trooger remains accountable; the AI agent increases throughput. Agents handle throughput. Humans handle judgment.

Q: What kinds of clients do you currently serve, and what are the most common business challenges they approach you with?

A: We serve technology-led organisations, including enterprises, IT services firms, BFSI companies, product businesses, digital transformation teams and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). They usually come to us for three reasons: speed, quality and specificity. They need the right technology professionals quickly, but they cannot afford poor-fit profiles or weak delivery.

Q: Could you share some examples of the measurable impact your solutions have created for clients?

A: The clearest impact is reduced interview load and faster shortlisting. Instead of reviewing large numbers of unverified profiles, clients receive fewer, better-curated and capability-tested professionals. That saves time, improves decision quality and reduces the risk of poor-fit deployments. Renewal is the metric I care about most because it proves the client experienced real value.

Q: How can individuals and organisations ensure that AI augments human intelligence rather than replacing it?

A: Organisations should use AI to make good people more effective, not simply to reduce headcount. Individuals need to move up the value chainโ€”from execution to judgment, communication, domain expertise and accountability. AI should handle throughput. Humans should handle consequence.

Q: The fear that AI will eliminate jobs continues to dominate public discourse. How real is this concern?

A: It is real, but often misframed. AI will eliminate tasks faster than many people expect. Some roles built largely around repetitive work will shrink. But tasks disappearing is not the same as people becoming irrelevant. The real challenge is helping people transition quickly enough.

Q: Which roles are most vulnerable to automation, and what new categories of jobs do you expect AI to create?

A: Roles built on repetitive information processing are the most vulnerableโ€”basic support, junior testing, documentation, rรฉsumรฉ screening, scheduling and low-complexity analysis. New roles will emerge around AI governance, model evaluation, agent supervision, workflow design, human-in-the-loop review and capability assessment. The premium will shift from access to information to sound judgment.

Q: Looking ahead, what is your long-term vision for Troogue.ai, and how do you see the company shaping the future of human-AI collaboration?

A: In the near term, Troogue aims to become the verified talent marketplace that enterprises trust for critical technology engagements. In the long term, we want to become the capability infrastructure for the future of workโ€”a live, evidence-based map of what professionals can actually do.

There is also an important data opportunity. Every assessment, every deployment and every feedback signal generates high-quality data on how expert humans reason and deliver. As AI systems increasingly require expert human data for training and evaluation, we are building the infrastructure to supply it. That creates a significant long-term opportunity that neither traditional staffing firms nor pure data-labelling businesses possess. Human-AI collaboration is becoming the default. Troogue’s role is to ensure the human side remains verified, capable and properly valued.

Q: Finally, what is the one misconception about artificial intelligence that you would most like to dispel?

A: That intelligence equals judgment. AI can generate impressive output, but it does not understand consequences or carry accountability. A bad process with AI is still a bad processโ€”only faster. Humans are not optional; they remain the critical control layer.
