Aditya Zooms Into The Space
PM hails scientists, Congress recalls India, started the journey to sun in 2006,
SRIHARIKOTA, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 2 (The CONNECT) – The launch of Aditya-L1 by PSLV-C57 is accomplished successfully, ISRO announced and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the nation in congratulating the scientists and engineers.
The vehicle has placed the satellite precisely into its intended orbit. India’s first solar observatory has begun its journey to the destination of Sun-Earth L1 point.
Aditya-L1 started generating the power. The solar panels are deployed. The first EarthBound firing to raise the orbit is scheduled for September 3, 2023, around 11:45 Hrs. IST
In an X (formerly twitter) post, the Prime Minister said; “After the success of Chandrayaan-3, India continues its space journey. Congratulations to our scientists and engineers at @isro for the successful launch of India’s first Solar Mission, Aditya -L1. Our tireless scientific efforts will continue in order to develop better understanding of the Universe for the welfare of entire humanity.”
Stating तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the people are indebted and grateful to scientists, space engineers, researchers and our hard-working personnel at ISRO for the successful launch of #AdityaL1 – Solar Observation Mission.
Together, we celebrate their success and honour them with our gratitude.
India, started the journey to sun in 2006, when our scientists proposed a solar observatory with a single instrument for the Sun. In July 2013, ISRO selects the seven payloads for the Aditya-1 mission, by now renamed the Aditya-L1 mission. In November 2015, ISRO formally approved Aditya-L1, Kharge recalled.
After the glorious successes of Chandrayaan Missions (First- 2008, Second -2019 and Third – 2023) and the Mangalyaan Mission (2013), our path towards placing a satellite to study the sun became a bit more secure.
Nations build capacity of science, technology and research not in just a few years, but decades altogether, and India’s success in space research and exploration is a shining example of that unflinching courage and commitment. Despite all obstacles, we have prevailed, he said.
“Indian scientists had been working, toiling day and night for years and years together. But now comes the moment of vindication, the moment of redeeming the pledge to the nation,” said Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Space and Atomic Energy.
Dr Jitendra Singh thanked the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for making this happen “by opening up new vistas for India’s space sector and telling us that sky is not the limit.”
“Thanks also honourable PM for giving us the confidence, the courage and the conviction to reach out to the stars and to discover the mysteries of universe beyond. And thanks also for making us realise the enormous potential of our space fraternity,” he said.
