Smart City coming up on 138 acres near Panvel

RailTel will go for many more highspeed broadband services for mega realty projects, says Aruna Singh, Chairman & Managing Director

MUMBAI, July 15 (The CONNECT) – Realty major The Wadhwa Group has entered into an agreement with RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. (RCIL) for creating state-of-the-art high-speed broadband for the developer’s upcoming smart city at Panvel.

RCIL will invest to plan, design and create the infrastructure delivering high-speed broadband, linear cable tv services and other VAS services at Wadhwa Wise City, an integrated township project spread across 138 acres with a development potential of 10mn sq.ft. It is being developed as part of a 450 acre land parcel.

It is also first of its kind agreements by RailTel with a private developer to develop this kind of infrastructure.

Other Service providers will also get access to deliver their Services which will include security services, Voice (over IP) and Linear &/Non Linear) Cable TV /DTH and IPTV services as well as VAS. RCIL will build underground and in-building infrastructure up to the subscriber/user home and deliver/provide Internet Services and also manage the Network Infrastructure required for supporting RailWire business.

The Access Network in Wadhwa Wise City Premises would be under ground 48/96 core Optical Fiber cable. Both the Last Mile and Access Network devices would be maintained and managed by RCIL approved vendor or MSP/Access Network partner. Further RCIL shall also augment capacity and plan a resilient network to handle RailWire traffic as per business projections. It shall also create RailWire Pops to provide network connectivity to Wadhwa Wise City Residents.

Navin Makhija, Managing Director, The Wadhwa Group said the partnership with RailTel will ensure that the residents at Wadhwa Wise City will enjoy the best-in-class internet and value-added-services offered over this infrastructure.

The township is strategically located close to several infrastructure developments and with the government's strong focus on developing Panvel, this region is slated to be the next economic growth corridor.

The Nationwide broadband internet services ‘RailWire’ by RailTel is quite popular due to its reliability and affordable tariff and its Subscriber base has grown to nearly 4.6 Lakhs+ subscribers all over the country. Railtel has recently launched truly unlimited broadband plans bundled with 13 OTT (Over-The-Top) services to RailWire customers. The Company is providing satisfactory services to many sectors which include Railways, Defence, Coal, Health, Education sectors, etc.

The project which is planned in multiple phases will be completed in a span of about 5-7 years and will comprise of IT parks, Father Agnel School, healthcare facilities, clubhouse, retail and shopping etc. This mega residential township once completed will not just be a row of concrete structures, but an impeccable mix of green & grey to render a mega lifestyle for healthier & holistic living. Spread across a vast verdant tract, this sprawling project will offer community living at its best via its meticulously planned spaces. The project will offer superior air quality, dedicated open spaces, and top class amenities to all its residents.
