FADA President Vinkesh Gulati thanks Maharashtra Government
MUMBAI, June 9 (The CONNECT) – Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has welcomed the Maharashtra Government for facilitating paperless and faceless registration of new vehicles.
With the 2nd COVID wave making life difficult, FADA Maharashtra worked with the State Transport Department in making the vehicle registration process faceless and paperless.
State Transport Commissioner, Dr Avinash Dhakane issued an order on June 8, 2021 enabling online submission of documents for registration of vehicles. This will also do away with physical verification for the first registration of new fully built motorcycles and cars and allow e-signing of all documents by the dealers using digital signature. Ordinary numbers will now be auto generated. This will now promote ease of doing business in the State and saving time of the customer and doing away with the physical visits to the RTOs.
FADA President Vinkesh Gulati thanked Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Bal Thackeray, Transport Minister Anil Parab and Transport Commissioner Dr Avinash Dhakane “for taking this bold decision and making the state’s vehicle registration digital friendly”.
FADA Maharashtra State Chairperson Amar Jatin Sheth said, the dealers have been looking forward to customers walking into a showroom and walk out with a vehicle with a registration number. “That will be an ultimate customer delight,” he said.
