Mumbai Handles 2,19,200 National, 63,000 International Flights

CSMIA Clocked 974 ATMs on February 11, 2023, the highest single day flight movement post Covid

MUMBAI, Apr 23 (The CONNECT) – Mumbai International Airport has registered strong passenger traffic of around 44 million in FY 22-23 marking  a y-o-y growth of 105% in passenger movement as compared to the previous fiscal.

AeroStatics (Please check details above) data shows that the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has recorded a 56% y-o-y growth registered in overall ATM (air traffic management).

CSMIA witnessed recovery of ~90% over pre-covid numbers. Domestic traffic registered strong recovery of ~96%.

CSMIA welcomed record 7 new Overseas passenger carriers, 1 new domestic passenger carrier during the year.

The airport witnessed 56% share of Non Metro traffic during FY 2023 compared to 50% pre-covid reflecting stronger domestic connectivity over the past years.

With regards to international passenger traffic, CSMIA witnessed over 11.2 million passengers, registering a 291% growth as compared to FY 2022

The airport saw over 32.7 million domestic passengers in FY2023, witnessing a y-o-y growth of 87% in comparison to FY 2022.

The airport saw over 63,000 movements to international destinations which is 181% higher compared to FY22.

Similarly, CSMIA witnessed 51% growth in domestic flight movements year on year with 2,19,200 movements in FY 2023.

Dubai, Abu Dubai and London remain the top international destination share with highest pax traffic.  

Delhi, Bengaluru, and Goa continue to retain their position as the top three preferred domestic destinations.

The airport Clocked 974 ATMs on February 11, 2023, the highest single day flight movement post Covid.

CSMIA handled a record 1,50,988 passenger movements in a single day on 10th December, 2022. – the highest since the Global Pandemic. This was also the overall third-highest single-day passenger movement recorded for CSMIA
