Double Engine Govt focusing on sports infrastructure as well, says UP CM Yogi Adityanath
GREATER NOIDA, Sep 24 (The CONNECT) -Uttar Pradesh is a state of immense possibilities for investment in various sectors, including infrastructure, road connectivity, metro, air connectivity, waterways, logistics and sports, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday.
Speaking at a business conclave with representatives of various companies participating in the Moto GP India being held at Buddha International Circuit in Greater Noida, CM Yogi urged the investors to invest in the state as it also has a sizeable population of youth to further their investments.
Yogi said: “Uttar Pradesh is moving forward as an excellent destination for investment in the country. Therefore, today I invite all the stakeholders, organizers and other dignitaries from this field, who are eager to invest in Moto GP, to take advantage of the possibilities in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh is not only a big market for events like Moto GP, but it is also home to a large population of youth.
He also assured the representatives of the companies that the Uttar Pradesh government will provide all kinds of security and facilities to the investors.
Describing the organising of Moto GP in Uttar Pradesh as an encouraging event, Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh is not only the most populous state of India, but also one of the fastest growing economies and the youngest state in the country with 56 percent of the total population being in the working age group.
“There is great potential in the sports sector and therefore, both the Central and State Governments are focusing on this. We are trying to develop the sports sector in Uttar Pradesh and are making every possible effort to organize such events. It is heartening to note that so far more than one lakh tickets have been sold for Moto GP 2023,” he said.
“The Moto GP race event is a centre of attraction for the global automobile industry. Our government will work with full commitment to encourage investment in the automobile sector in the state and in the country through this event. Buddha International Circuit was developed by the State Government in 2011. With this event, the many possibilities within the state were presented to you through a short film. You must have seen what possibilities there are in Uttar Pradesh,” Yogi said.
OVER 500 FOREIGN BUYERS REGISTER @ UP INTERNATIONAL TRADE SHOW
In a major achievement for Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh, over 500 foreign buyers registered on the third day of the five-day UP International Trade Show being held at India Expo Center in Greater Noida on Sunday.
The trade show, which aims at showcasing UP’s products to the global audience and also attract investments to Uttar Pradesh, has been attracting attention of both domestic and international buyers since its inauguration. A large number of buyers from Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia, and Africa are visiting the trade fair for shopping.
On the third day of the trade show, a session was held on the topic ‘Uttar Pradesh: Leading the Growth to India's ICT Manufacturing and Export’. Several experts presented their viewpoints on the subject, including Sandeep Nirula, the Chairman of UPECL, who0 said that the rapid growth of Uttar Pradesh in electronic-ICT manufacturing and export is an inspiration for other states across the country.
Yogi said earlier investors were afraid to invest in the state because of poor law and order situation, while today the situation is completely the opposite. The conducive environment created for setting up of industries through a series of initiatives undertaken by the government has led to an increase in investors' interest in Uttar Pradesh, he pointed out.
“The electronic companies are investing more because the scope of these industries is rising in UP, which will help in transforming the state into a one trillion-dollar economy”, he remarked.
Sanjay Aggarwal, the CEO of Eastern Software System, said that Noida encapsulates the rising opportunities available in different fields in Uttar Pradesh. “Over the past few years, the software industry has firmly established itself in this region. This holds significance in multiple aspects, as it not only contributes to the state's rapidly growing economy but also generates employment opportunities for the youth”, he pointed out.
He added that given the government's commitment to increase the infrastructure in the area, it is likely that several Indian and international software companies will be set up in the forthcoming years.
The CM said the area where this Moto GP event is being organised is the same sector where there is the junction of two important freight corridors of India (Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridor). Here, work has been done to rapidly advance the programmes for dedicated freight corridor as well as logistics and transport hub, he pointed out.
“In this area itself, the State Government is constructing an international airport (Noida International) on a war footing in collaboration with Zurich Airport International. Air connectivity has also been improved in other areas within the state. Inland waterways has been started between Varanasi-Haldia, which is promoting better connectivity with the eastern port of the state. We have already launched the Atal Industrial Infrastructure Mission for the development of industrial infrastructure within the state and through the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan, a new ecosystem has been created for industrial and infrastructure investment within the state. It is a pleasure to inform you that Uttar Pradesh is one of the leading states in the country working under the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan”,Yogi said.
Yogi emphasised that the state has carried out many reforms to enhance the state’s potential for investment as a result of which investment proposals worth Rs 36 lakh crore were received through the Global Investors Summit held in the state early this year. In this context, he mentioned his government’s efforts to restore law and order and create an environment of security within the state.
“The state has excelled in Ease of Doing Business in the country. Today, the State Government monitors MoUs signed with investors through Nivesh Sarathi and takes its implementation forward with full commitment. Single window system is being made available to every investor. Nivesh Mitra is the largest portal within the country. It works to provide more than 400 services on one platform, where investors' problems are resolved quickly. The portal also facilitates incentives for investors. Furthermore, 25 sectoral policies for different sectors have been made and implemented effectively”, CM Yogi said.
Referring to the efforts of the government to encourage sports and players in the state, CM Yogi said that on Saturday, the Prime Minister of India unveiled the foundation stone of an International Cricket Stadium in Varanasi, known as the cultural and spiritual capital of Uttar Pradesh and India. Uttar Pradesh is organising many such events in collaboration with the Central Government, which include construction of a stadium in every district and mini stadium at the block level, as well as expansion of playground and development of open gyms in every gram panchayat.
Yuvak Mangal Dal and Mahila Mangal Dal have been formed in every gram panchayat to promote sports activities among women and youth in the state, CM Yogi said further, pointing out that they are also being provided sports kits.
