Weaver Veldi Hari Prasad wants to present the special gift to Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan
HYDERABAD, Aug 13 (The CONNECT) - Powerloom weaver Veldi Hari Prasad from Sircilla who wove in the past a zari saree as light as air and that can fit in a match box now makes another headline with his new creation.
This time it is the National Anthem woven on Silk Fabric without any stitch.
He wove Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav logo and India map with tri colours and Ashok Chakra in between. The entire national anthem in Telugu was also woven. “I have done this to celebrate in my own style the 75th Anniversary of India's Independence,” he says.
The fabric has two sides saluting women. It took him five days to weave it. It is two meters long and 47 inches wide, Prasad says.
He wants to present this to Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, but doesn’t know how to reach her. He feels sorry that no one is helping him.
Prasad had hit the headlines by creating an image of Lord Ganesha on a shawl using one gram of gold.
