MUMBAI, Sep 4 (BNC Network) The nasty controversy over Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut’s outspoken statements over the death of SSR and her PoK jibe have further accelerated have taken a political turn with the Shiv Sena and Congress blasting her and the BJP distancing itself from the scene.
Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) President Eknath Gaikwad condemned the statement by Kangana Ranaut and said he strongly opposed her statement regarding drawing parallel between Mumbai and PoK. He said Mumbai is for and of all Indian citizens, all religions, and people from all around the country come here to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
Gaikwad also said that Kangana Ranaut should not pass any comments or issue any statements against Mumbai Police, and added that it was one of the most professional law enforcing agencies of the country which has done excellent work and whose comparison is famously done with none other than Scotland Yard police.
He further added that Kangana Ranaut has earned her name and fame in Mumbai and repeated that her social media posts were highly condemnable.
Reacting to Kangana’s PoK jibe, Sena MP Sanjay Raut and Maharashtra Home Minister questioned her right to stay in the State. Reacting to Raut’s comment that the actor has no business to stay in Mumbai when she criticizes the city police on the handling of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Kangana likened Mumbai to PoK.
Kangana, who describes herself as “Artist, Recipient of Padmashri, Three national awards winner, highest grossing female centric films, Budding Filmmaker, Wannabe environmentalist”, today tweeted:
किसी के बाप का नहीं है महाराष्ट्र, महाराष्ट्र उसी का है जिसने मराठी गौरव को प्रतिष्ठित किया है। और मैं डंके की चोट पे कहती हूँ हॉ मैं मराठा हूँ ,उखाड़ो मेरा क्या उखाड़ोगे?
(Maharashtra is nobody’s father’s property…Maharashtra belongs to the one who made the state’s glory famous….I am a Maratha…do what you want to do to me).
To this, Sanjay’s response is:
मुंबई ही मराठी माणसाच्या बापाचीच आहे...ज्यांना हे मान्य नसेल त्यांनी त्यांचा बाप दाखवावा…
(Maharashtra belongs Marathi people’s father….those who do not accept this, show who is their father)
Kangana said in another tweet: “All chaploos who are showing their love for Maharashtra must know I am the first Actor/ Director in the history of Hindi Cinema to bring Maratha Pride Shiva Ji Maharaj and Rani LaxmiBai to the big screen and I faced huge opposition during the release from the same people.”
