Don’t wait for things to happen as success comes to those who work for it, Telangana ADGP Shikha Goel at HPS Ramanthapur.

HYDERABAD, July 20 (The CONNECT) – Move out of the comfort zone and don’t worry about falling – you do not achieve anything without falling!

With these words, Additional DGP (CID) Shikha Goel, Director of Cyber Security Bureau, told students at Hyderabad Public School Ramanthapur that quoted Michael Jordan the famous basketball legend who said: “I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career I have failed over and over and over again and that is why I succeeded. Remember this as you navigate through life.  Embrace failure learn from it and let it strengthen you”.

Speaking as the chief guest at the school’s investiture ceremony today, Goel asked students not to wait for things to happen in their favour. “Success will go to those who work for it.  Go out of your comfort zone. Take risks. Don’t mind failing. Nothing is achieved without failing. When you fail, make sure you bounce back. There will be a lot of ups and downs.  Take them into yours stride and continue your efforts,” she said.

The ceremony saw the conferring of duties to the new prefectorial team, led by head boy Sanvith Murari and head girl Ragi Sri Nitya. The primary wing students led by Captains Yashika and Shanaya were also invested, taking an oath to serve with enthusiasm and zeal. The event included a prize distribution ceremony recognizing outstanding students from grades X and XII.

Reminding students what Dr APJ Abdul Kalam once said, Goel said ‘Dream, dream, dream’.  It is the ambition and fire in us that keeps us striving for greatness, she said.
