MUMBAI, Oct 2 (The CONNECT) – Vasundhara Raje, who took on Narendra Modi-Amit Shah combine, has emerged as the RSS favourite to be the next BJP president, reports emanating from the Sangh headquarters at Nagpur indicate.

The RSS leadership has been hotly debating the candidate to replace J P Nadda who has been appointed as the union Health minister.

As per the one-man-one-position rule, Nadda must relinquish the BJP presidentship.

For the starters, BJP is the political arm of the RSS.

Initially, Mo-Sha combine proposed former MP CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan for the top party post and then RSS veteran Sanjay Joshi’s name cropped up.

The RSS leadership considered various permutations and combinations and seems to have zeroed on to Vasundhara Raje.

Veteran journalist Ashok Wankhede has also confirmed to News Launcher that the former Rajasthan CM would lead the BJP.

Readers would recall that Vasundhara Raje has a score to settle with Mo-Sha combine who sidelined her and chose first time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma for the post of Rajasthan CM in December 2023.

The ‘chit’ episode in which Defence Minister Rajnath Singh passed on a slip of paper supposedly to indicate the party high command-approved name for the CM’s post. Vasundhara Raje, who opened the chit was visibly upset and the clip went viral on social media.

When PM Modi declared that he feels like a non-biological being sent by God with a purpose, Bhagwat indirectly reprimanded the former. One should not declare himself to be God, the RSS chief said.

“In our lifetime one should do good deeds without bothering about success or failure. Anybody can become a memorable person with his deeds. But whether we have been able to achieve that level, this decision should be left to the people,” Bhagwat said, speaking in Marathi at an event in Pune on Thursday to mark the centenary year of Shankar Dinkar Kane, The Telegraph had reported.
