NMMC Recruitment On Hourly Payment Basis
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation aims to provide quality education and produce meritorious students
NAVI MUMBAI, July 10 (The CONNECT) – Over 1,500 candidates walked in for interviews for 185 vacancies for teachers in Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) schools today.
NMMC conducted the interviews for 53 primary and 23 middle schools to meet the rising demand in the current academic year.
Teacher candidates lined up from 9 AM onward and by 4 PM 722 primary and 605 middle school job seekers registered themselves, NMMC said in a press release.
In all 123 primary school teachers, including 88 for Marathi medium, 31 Hindi, 4 Urdu are being recruited on an hourly payment basis. For the middle section, 60 teachers – Marathi 37, Hindi 11 Urdu 2 and English 10 – are being enrolled.
With the filling up of the vacancies, NMMC hopes to provide quality education to the students, municipal commissioner Rajesh Narvekar said.
The prospective teachers are being told that they will have to work purely on a temporary basis and their remuneration will be paid based on the hours of teaching that they will put in.
