NEW DELHI, Jan 21 (The CONNECT) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today posted greetings on the occasion of Statehood days Meghalaya, Tripura and Manipur.

PM’s post read: “On Manipur’s Statehood Day, my best wishes to the people of the state. Manipur has made a strong contribution to India’s progress. We take pride in the culture and traditions of the state. I pray for the continued development of Manipur.”

Modi, however, did not mention anything about the eight-month long Manipur crisis. But in his message to the people of Tripura he wished for their “prosperity and harmony”.

But for a brief reference to Manipur in his address during the monsoon session, Modi has remained silent on the Manipur violence which has been criticised by the opposition.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi kicked off his Bharat Nyay Jodo Yatra on January 14 from Thoubal in Manipur vowing “we will bring back harmony” to the State.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur dismissed the Yatra as a hoax and pointed out that several leaders deserted the Congress due to the injustice meted out to them.

Here are the messages that Modi posted on X platform:

“Heartfelt wishes on Statehood Day to the people of Tripura. May this day celebrate the unique history and rich heritage of the state. Wishing prosperity and harmony to the people of Tripura.”

“Happy Statehood Day to the people of Meghalaya! Today is an occasion to celebrate the incredible culture of Meghalaya and the achievements of the people there. May Meghalaya scale new heights of progress in the times to come.”

Ahead of tomorrow’s Pran Pratishta of Lord Sri Ram tomorrow, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, shared three Shri Ram Bhajans today.
